DreamHack has officially confirmed that it will expand to North America with an event in Austin, Texas. The multi-purpose Austin Convention Center is the venue selected to host DreamHack's first event outside of Europe, which was teased in a video released by the Swedish company on Sunday. DreamHack Austin, which will run from May 6-8 2016, will feature "all the core content pillars" that have made DreamHack one of the most popular event organisers in the world, including international esports tournaments, it was confirmed.
DreamHack CEO Marcus Lindmark stated that the company had long wished to expand to North America and revealed that a second event in the continent could be announced soon.
