The two-stage online tournament Farmskins Championship #2, that will feature some notable European teams, will have the eventual winner earn a spot at the $500,000 tournament in Poland. The qualifying process for IEM Katowice 2018, for the most part, still follows the standard open and closed qualifier system that we saw for ESL's tournaments in the past, but this time, one LAN slot will be given out through a third-party tournament, the Farmskins Championship #2 organized by UCC. Teams such as AGO, Windigo and GODSENT have been confirmed for the first stage of the competition, which will feature 15 invited teams and one qualified team, spread out through four groups. Each group will be played out as a double-elimination bracket, with only the winners advancing to the second stage. One of the teams that should debut in the tournament is Enyoy, Mikail "Maikelele" Bill's new team that also features the likes of Jacob "pyth" Mourujärvi and Markus "pronax" Wallsten. After the first stage is completed, the four group winners will be joined by four invited teams in the second stage, which will be played out as a single-elimination bracket from February 7th onwards. The groups for the first stage of the Farmskins Championship #2, which are still not finalized, are available below:
